The innovative processes we make use of now--in particular, automated underwriting--have been of great benefit to customers and to mortgage professionals. Another change what has NOT been for  the better is the influx  of loan officers that are out to get as much profit as they can out of every transaction. I know of loan officers who make five to ten times what I would receive on a typical mortgage transaction. I don't work that way. Such practices hurt customers. They also hurt the industry I am proud to have been a part of for so many years.
